1. Who we are
Shaun the Sheep (شان د شیپ), a restaurant operating in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You can reach us at contact@shaunfood.com or 04 321 8882.
2. What we collect
When you place an order, make a reservation, or contact us, we collect only what we need to serve you:
- Name — so we can address you correctly.
- Phone number — to confirm your order and reach you if there is a problem.
- Email (optional) — to send order/reservation confirmations.
- Delivery address (only for delivery orders) — to bring food to you.
- Geolocation coordinates (only if you tap "use my location") — to improve delivery accuracy.
- Order details — items, quantities, totals, and notes you write.
We do not handle your card number directly. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (currently Network International), which is PCI-DSS compliant.
3. How we use it
To prepare and deliver your order, take reservations, contact you about service issues, and keep accounting records as required by UAE law. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing.
4. Who we share it with
Only with parties strictly needed to operate:
- Our payment processor (Network International) — to charge your card.
- Our email service (Resend) — to send you confirmations.
- Our delivery rider (where applicable) — your address and phone, nothing more.
- UAE regulatory authorities — only if legally required.
5. How long we keep it
Order and reservation records are retained for 7 years (UAE bookkeeping requirements). Geolocation coordinates and order notes are deleted with the order record. You can request earlier deletion at any time — see Section 8.
6. How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS end-to-end. Customer data lives in a private Postgres database that is not exposed to the public internet. Backups are encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the restaurant owner and operators.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (Plausible) that does not place tracking cookies and does not identify individual visitors. We do not use advertising trackers, Facebook Pixel, or similar.
8. Your rights under UAE PDPL
Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (the Personal Data Protection Law), you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@shaunfood.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the policy changes. The effective date at the top reflects the current version.
