If something is missing from your order, or an item is not the one you chose, phone the kitchen on 04 321 8882 straight away — that is the whole process. You will be talking to the people who cooked and packed your bag, and because the kitchen is open 24 hours, someone answers whatever time your food arrived.
The rest of this page is the detail: what to open before you dial, how to say it so the call takes a minute instead of ten, the ordinary reasons an item goes astray, and the thirty seconds at checkout that stop it happening next time.
Should I check first, or call first?
Check for half a minute, then call. Open your order page on the site — the same page you have been following the order on. It lists every line exactly as it was placed: each bowl, each bread, each side, each add-on, and how many of each. The kitchen is looking at that same list from its side, so the moment you can say "the order page shows two Tongue and one arrived", there is nothing to argue about and nothing for you to prove.
Then call while the food is still in front of you and the boxes are open. A call an hour later, from memory, is harder for everyone: the kitchen cannot see your table, and you will be trying to remember whether the second Brain was in the bag. Food in front of you, order page on the screen, phone in your hand — that is the fastest version of this conversation, and usually the shortest.
What do I actually say?
Be specific and unhurried. Three things carry the whole call.
- Who you are. The name and phone number the order was placed under. There are no accounts on this site and no passwords, so your phone number is how an order is found.
- What is missing or wrong. Name the item and the number. "The Mixed Torshi isn't in the bag" can be acted on immediately; "part of my order is missing" starts a guessing game that costs you five minutes.
- What arrived instead. If a Brain Soup came where you expected a bowl of Brain, say so — it changes the answer completely.
You do not have to be angry to be taken seriously, and you do not have to justify yourself. A kitchen that cooks lamb heads through the night knows that a bag occasionally leaves short. The person answering wants exactly what you want: to know what happened, so it can be put right.
What went wrong, what to do, what to have ready
| What went wrong | What to do | What to have ready |
|---|---|---|
| A whole item is missing — a bowl, a bread, a drink | Phone 04 321 8882 with the bag open in front of you | The name and phone number on the order, the order page open, the item named |
| An item arrived that you did not order | Phone and describe both — what came, and what you chose | The line on the order page, and what is actually in the box |
| A large platter looks short | Count the pieces against the order page before you call | Your own count of each component |
| An add-on is missing (extra sangak, torshi, chili) | Check the order page first — add-ons are separate lines | Whether that line appears on the order at all |
| A Kettle of Tea did not come with a delivery | It is dine-in only and cannot be delivered; call if it appears on a delivery order | The order page |
| The estimated time has passed and the rider has not phoned | Phone the kitchen rather than keep waiting | The phone number and the map pin you gave at checkout |
| You need to change or cancel | Phone immediately — the site has no button for this | The change you want, in one sentence |
| The kitchen rejected the order | Nothing to do — read the reason on your order page; the card refund is automatic | Nothing |
Why does an item go missing at all?
Nearly always it is one of a handful of ordinary things, and none of them are mysterious.
- An add-on was never actually ordered. The most common reason by far, and not a kitchen error. See the next section.
- The portion count was smaller than the table. A platter's name is its portion count: the Single Dish is one, the Double Dish is two, The Full Dish is three.
- A container from a large order stayed behind. The Khan's Platter is the classic case — four lamb cheeks, eight trotters, two brains, three tongues, four eyes and five breads leave in several containers, and more containers means more chances for one to be left.
- An item that cannot travel. The Kettle of Tea is dine-in only. It is poured and served at the table on Jumeira Street; a rider cannot carry it.
- A cut ran short. Cheeks, tongues and eyes are finite — a head yields what it yields. If the kitchen cannot fulfil an order, it does not quietly send you a half order: the order is rejected with a reason and the card payment is refunded automatically.
Why do people expect the sides to come with the bowl?
Because on the table they look like part of the dish, and in the basket they are their own line. Extra Sangak, Special Sangak, Mixed Torshi, Garlic Torshi, capsicum, onion, fresh chili and pickled green chili are all separate items you add on purpose. A bowl of Trotters arrives as a bowl of trotters; if you want bread and pickles beside it, they have to be in the basket.
Quantity works the same way. If four people are eating and one Double Dish was ordered, nothing has gone missing — the basket was simply smaller than the table. Before a big order it is worth reading the full menu guide, for exactly this reason.
Is there a claims window or a voucher?
No, and it would be wrong to pretend otherwise. There is no claims process, no credit balance and no voucher scheme. What exists is a phone call to the kitchen that made your food, and an outcome agreed with you on that call, case by case. Situations differ and so do the answers; the honest position is that a person works it out with you rather than a policy page deciding for you.
One thing is automatic, and it is worth keeping separate in your head. If the kitchen cannot fulfil an order, the order is rejected with a reason, that reason is shown on your order page, and the card payment is refunded automatically — you do not have to ask for it. The money goes back to the same card that paid. How quickly your bank posts it is your bank's business, not the kitchen's, and nobody here can honestly give you a date.
How do I stop this happening next time?
Read the basket before you pay. Thirty unhurried seconds catch nearly everything.
- Count the lines against the number of people eating, and remember that a platter's name is a portion count.
- Check the add-ons are genuinely on the list — extra sangak, torshi, onion, chili — and not just in your head.
- Check the drinks. Lemonade, Doogh, water and soft drinks travel fine; the Kettle of Tea is dine-in only.
- Check the delivery details: your Dubai area chosen from the list and a pin dropped on the map. Both are required — the area sets the delivery charge, the pin tells the rider your exact door. Delivery is free on orders over AED 300.
- Read your phone number back digit by digit. The rider phones you on arrival, so a wrong digit is the one mistake the kitchen cannot fix from its side.
If you are ordering for a future time — a dawn breakfast, up to about two days ahead — that review matters more, not less, because you will not be looking at the basket again before the food is cooked. The step-by-step ordering guide walks through the same screens slowly.
What if I want to change or cancel after paying?
Phone 04 321 8882 immediately. The site has no cancel button and no edit button — it is not hidden in a menu somewhere, it simply is not a feature, and hunting for it burns the minutes that actually matter. Whether a change is possible depends entirely on how far along the food is: a bowl not yet started is a different conversation from a platter already boxed and on a bike. Call fast and ask.
What if the rider has not phoned?
The rider phones you when they arrive, so your phone is the doorbell. Keep it off silent and near you once the order is confirmed, especially at four in the morning, when a missed call means a rider standing outside the wrong tower. If the estimated time the kitchen gave you has passed and nothing has happened, call 04 321 8882 rather than keep waiting: the kitchen can reach the rider, and it can also see the area and the map pin you gave at checkout.
The short version
Open the order page, look at the food, phone 04 321 8882, name the item and the number. One kitchen, one phone line, awake all night. When you are ready to order again, start from the home page and give the basket one last read before you pay.
